The Abia House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a supplementary budget of N25.4 billion for the 2013 fiscal year.
Gov. Theodore Orji presented a proposed budget of N26.148 billion to the lawmakers a couple of weeks ago.
Presenting the budget proposal for a final passage during Tuesday’s plenary session in Umuahia, Assemblyman Chidiebere Nwoke, the House Leader, said that the budget had been pruned down to N25.4 billion.
Nwoke commended his colleagues for the timely passage of the supplementary budget.
Speaking to journalists shortly before the plenary, the Deputy Speaker, Assemblyman Asiforo Okere, said that the lawmakers passed three bills and adopted more than seven resolutions in the last three months.
